The Yearbook of the BEST ITALIAN WINES by Luca Maroni recognized the Valcalepio Bianco DOC ‘MELARDO’ among the best white wines!

 

‘Melardo’ ORGANIC Valcalepio Bianco DOC obtained a score higher than 95/100, or EXCELLENT according to the ‘stylistic and organoleptic’ profile

Evaluations based on the principle that “the quality of the wine is the pleasantness of its flavor”. Also this edition of the Yearbook takes stock of the best Italian wine production increasingly appreciated all over the world for its variety and its high qualitative expression, also representing a valuable information tool for sector experts and wine lovers.

The ranking is on a regional basis and Luca Maroni’s evaluation is based on his usual principle that “the quality of the wine is the pleasantness of its flavor”.

8,123 wines examined within the ANNUARIO which also contains 32,492 tasting evaluations. For each wine evaluated in the Yearbook, in addition to the vintage of harvest, the information and historical notes on the producer, the day of the tasting and the description of the perceptions detected during the tasting, also the score in hundredths and the evaluation of consistency, balance and integrity.

The Valcalepio Bianco DOC MELARDO from “Il Cipresso” is a regular guest among the best white wines in the Luca Maroni Yearbook, with ratings always higher than 94/100 in the various vintages!

“LITTLE BUT EXCELLENT” is how Angelica Cuni describes the 2020 vintage of Melardo ORGANIC Valcalepio Bianco DOC reviewed in Luca Maroni’s YEARBOOK.

“2020 is a year sadly known for the vicissitudes of COVID, it was not easy to organize the management of the vineyards, the harvest, the bottling and the supply of raw materials; we produced ONLY 3900 bottles of MELARDO BIO Valcalepio Bianco DOC and we are very happy with the results obtained ”- said Angelica Cuni, owner with her husband Alfonso of Il Cipresso -.

The prestigious VITAE guide of Italian sommeliers (AIS) awarded the Moscato di Scanzo DOCG 'SERAFINO' 2016 with the highest award: the 4 VITES!

It is the only Moscato di Scanzo DOCG wine to have obtained the prestigious recognition in the VITAE guide of the Italian Sommelier Association: the four vines.

The attribution of the four VINES is given to those wines that obtain a score higher than 91/100, that is EXCELLENT according to the 'stylistic and organoleptic' profile, this depends on the organoleptic characteristics of the wine detected during the tasting phases and takes into account the consistency production of the specific company, especially if oriented to the enhancement of the grape variety, the type of wine and the specific production area.

In all, there are 2,314 wineries in the guide, with 887 wines awarded with the "Four Vines", the highest Ais award.

The hundreds of sommeliers of the VITAE 2021 guide tasted and reviewed the more than 2000 wines presented in the competition; an arduous challenge for the Moscato di Scanzo "Serafino" 2016, which was among the best.

The prestigious VINIPLUS guide of the association sommeliers awarded the Moscato di Scanzo DOCG ‘SERAFINO’ 2017 with the gold medal!
Serafino is the only Moscato di Scanzo DOCG to have obtained the highest recognition from the guide of association of sommeliers of Lombardy, the gold medal! “The attribution of Rosa Camuna gold medal depends on the organoleptic characteristics of the wine detected during the tasting phases and takes into account the production consistency of the specific company, especially if oriented towards the enhancement of the grape variety, the type of wine and the specific production area. In our intentions, the Rosa Camuna gold metals are therefore a recommendation of particular merit for the individual wines and at the same time for the companies that produce them” The 150 sommeliers of the VINIPLUS 2022 guide tasted and reviewed the almost one thousand wines of the 265 wineries present in the competition; an arduous challenge for the Moscato di Scanzo “Serafino” which was among the winners. “Il Cipresso” is not new to this recognition: it won it in 2020 with Serafino Moscato di Scanzo DOCG 2016, but also in 2019 with Serafino vintage 2015. “We are proud because on its second debut’in society’, Serafino 2017 Moscato di Scanzo DOCG was awarded the highest recognition by the Lombard sommelier guide; victory that repeats the success achieved with the gold medal in one of the most important wine competitions in the world: DECANTER WORLD WINE AWARDS “- said Angelica Cuni, owner with her husband Alfonso of Il Cipresso -.

Also this year we will keep the cellar open for visits and tastings, every Sunday in September. On 5-12-19 and 26 September we open the cellar and and we invite all wine lovers to tasting our Moscato di Scanzo Serafino, but also all our wines

Il Cipresso opens the cellar on 5 - 12 -19 and 26 September from 10.00 to 13.00 and from 14.30 to 18.00. We invite the wine lovers to taste our wine 'Serafino' Moscato di Scanzo DOCG. You can get to know and taste the other wines and grappas and visit the old vineyard in Scanzorosciate (Bergamo).

Unfortunately, this year too the Covid-19 emergency does not allow the regular conduct of the Moscato Festival however, with the collaboration of all the winemakers of Scanzorosciate (Bergamo), IL CIPRESSO is organizing 'LA FESTA DEL MOSCATO in the cellar', over the four weekends of September.

For sports enthusiasts, the Moscato di Scanzo Trail is confirmed for September 12th, a competition that will give the opportunity to run among the ancient rows of Moscato di Scanzo, cross the cellars and be captured by the scent of ripe grapes, and why not, sip a glass at the end of the race. A 20 Km loop with 800m D +.
